The Board of the nonprofit Adult School of the Chathams, Madison and Florham Park recently completed its first ever strategic planning study.

The study, lead by Madison’s own Richard Bryant, President of Front House Services, included a comprehensive lengthy review and assessment of the School’s customer base, existing programs, finances, near and far-horizon trends, and customer satisfaction feedback.

Residency in Chatham, Chatham Township, Florham Park, Madison, or the Basking Ridge section of Bernards Township is preferred but not required.

The Adult School, founded in 1937, was one of the first independent, nonprofit community education organizations founded in New Jersey.

Over the past four years, the Adult School has successfully supported more than 15,000 adult learners.“Serving on the board is a wonderful way to ‘give back’ to the community, support lifelong learning, network, and develop or gain new skills to use in the workplace,” noted Victor Schumacher of Madison, president of the Board of Trustees.

He added that the board welcomes individuals with a diversity of skills, but is especially interested in recruiting candidates with expertise in fund-raising, grant writing, nonprofit management, social media or marketing.

These data will serve as the basis for the Board’s Feb. With the final report as the backdrop, the Board will focus on decisions for the coming three to four years’ programs, new initiatives, finances, and staffing.
