Bio

Maxim Zinchenko is a documentary photographer based in Moscow. He was born and raised in Budyonnovsk, Stavropol Krai. His practice engages with memory, experiences of trauma, coming of age, vulnerability, and the urban environment.

Zinchenko works with digital medium-format and 35 mm film photography. His first completed project examines memory and its relationship to personal traumatic experience. He is currently developing his documentary language and exploring photography as a way of observing people and the environments that shape their lives.

Zinchenko holds a degree in Social Work and a master’s degree in Youth Work Organisation from institutions in Moscow. He is currently studying at the Docdocdoc School of Contemporary Photography. Two of his works were presented in the URBAN Exhibits 2026 exhibition.
